The Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale Board is thankful to all of the churches and the community for their generous support of the 44th Annual Relief Sale held at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds in Goshen, IN over September 23-24..  There were many blessings from heaven pouring down, in the form of rain, and in generous buyers, which equaled another good year!

Preliminary gross revenue for the sale, before our expenses, is just over $369,000. The breakdown is as follows: Quilt Auction - $98,370; New/Used/Antique Auction - $13,539; Food sales - $150,249; Penny Power - $18,000; Crafts/Ten Thousand Villages/plants/fabric/garage sale/etc.- $78,826; Men's Chorus (Sunday night) - $2,322; Pre-sale Banquet - $7.700; along with three businesses, Aluminum Trailer Co, Genesis Products and KZ Recreational Vehicles who matched Penny Power giving for an additional - $18,000. We are grateful for all the volunteers, crafters, bakers, and artisans who gave thousands of hours to make this year's sale a success, and provide support for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) ministries around the world.

A special blessing for our sale this year was the attendance of the National Board of Directors for Relief Sales who met just prior to the sale at Amigo Centre, a camp and retreat ministry of the Indiana-Michigan Mennonite Conference. Ken & Betty Hartzler also addressed the crowd gathered for the Quilt auction at noon on Saturday and spoke briefly about the Traveling Peace Quilt just prior to it being auctioned. Thanks for all of their support and encouragement to a Michiana Board who is mostly new this year.
